MEP Reference Issue
by Admin User - Thursday, 17 April 2014, 04:57 AM

At PharmacyCPA we have been trying to get clarification from the GPhC concerning the issue of MEP reference, in the GPhC Exam. For instance, where does the official legislation lie as to whether a prescription is deemed legal.

This used to come from the RPSGB created MEP which stated what needs to be legally on a prescription. However, ever since the GPhC has taken over, this has made the MEP defunct and should not be referenced as the "legislation" but as general guidance.

So surely, the GPhC have remedied this situation by adopting the MEP? The answer is no, the official answer to this question is that pre-regs must refer to http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ for the definitive legal answer to whether a prescription is legal!
